Open up the Possibilities with ANN SACKS® Ogassian Brise

ANN SACKS, and artist, Daniel Ogassian, celebrated its long-term collaboration with a new collection, Ogassian Brise (French for “breeze”), a handcrafted cement series of intriguing, open designs.  This grand scale sculptural expression stems from Ogassian’s love of the glass and cinder block designs that became all the rage in 1950s and 1960s interior design, used to accentuate and decorate existing walls, or configured to uniquely address dividing space into effective lifestyle solutions.

Ogassian is renowned for his ability to combine patterns of sharp contrast that are tactile and dramatic.  Many of the Ogassian designs act almost like optical illusions; when looked at from the side or while in motion, the interplay of light and shadows creates a three-dimensional effect that is both beautiful and captivating.  The designs can also be backed allowing for a finished in the round, open installation.

The new Ogassian tiles are created through a unique marriage of Old World hand-craftsmanship and modern technology.  Daniel Ogassian himself is an artist and designer who uses a “subtractive sculptural process” to fashion and refine the master models and then oversees the creation of the finished tiles by expert craftsmen in the United States.  His latest endeavor takes this artistry to an entirely new level with three sophisticated designs: Japanese Weave Screen Block (shown), Geo Weave Screen Block, and Classic Weave, and is available in White and Light Grey glazes.
