ANN SACKS® Presents Tidewater and Lath, Two New Collections

ANN SACKS, premier manufacturer and distributor of tile and stone, introduced Tidewater and Lath at the 2013 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in New Orleans. Designed by Italian architect and designer, Rodolfo Dordoni, Tidewater and Lath utilizes up to 25-percent recycled materials within the tiles’ porcelain composition, keeping in line with ANN SACKS continued commitment to the environment.

Exclusive to ANN SACKS, Tidewater and Lath offer textural surfaces in remarkably large formats that take porcelain to an entirely new level. In stock and ready to ship, Tidewater and Lath were conceived to be minimalist by design bringing subtle texture and depth to large scale wall and floor applications.

“[My designs] are natural in texture, but unnatural with reference to the most traditional product concept,” explained Dordoni. “The seeming imperfection is its peculiarity; the irregularity is its personality and what its skin conceals.”

TIDEWATER

An imaginative tile of soft understatement imparts a striae effect similar to the draping of a fine textiles or the fluidity of warm clay. The very irregularity of the tile design is what gives the surface its character and movement. Cast in porcelain, Tidewater is easy to maintain and durable. It is offered in two field sizes: 7-7/8”x70-7/8”, and in the largest format ANN SACKS offers to date, 31-1/2”x70-7/8”, making it a perfect choice for large scale interpretations.

Tidewater is available in Pebble, Sand, Shell, and Volcano. The tiles are suitable for all vertical surfaces as well as being completely comfortable when selected for an outdoor setting.

LATH

The organic beauty of Lath porcelain tile was inspired by the impression that remained when poured cement was removed from a wood cast. Dordoni was taken with the residual imprint of the gentle wood grain, small nail heads and the irregular mottling where small amounts of cement pooled as it dried. Explained Dordoni, “Lath is] not a reproduction of the material it resembles, but offers instead an account of time passed, time that has altered the surface, smoothing the relief and structure.”

The tiles are offered in 8”x47”, 12”x47”, and 24”x47” planks and can be intermixed or laid up in a variety of ways to create an intriguing visual pattern. Lath is suitable for all floor and wall applications making it a perfect choice whether used indoors or out. Available in Whitewash, Beige, Clay and Ebony, Lath has ease of maintenance and the durability to withstand even the highest traffic areas.
