ANN SACKS® debuts the Charles Stone collection

PORTLAND, Ore. (May 1, 2009) – ANN SACKS introduced its revolutionary Charles Stone Collection of tiles at the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show in Atlanta by ANN SACKS, a premier manufacturer and distributor of tile, stone and plumbing products. Through a proprietary process, this unique collection of flooring and wall applications replicates the character and irregular beauty found in nature and the crackled effect of gesso lacquer in a virtual limitless array of custom shapes, textures and colors.

Manufactured in England, the Charles Stone Collection employs composite materials and complicated mold-making processes to mirror the texture and shading variations of shagreen, crocodile, gesso, and wood. Suitable for indoor and outdoor installations, Charles Stone offers a dramatic alternative to wall and floor coverings.

“Charles Stone is a superior tile for outdoor applications that experience colder temperatures and is also impervious to water making it an excellent choice for swimming pools and showers,” explained DeeDee Gundberg, senior staff designer, ANN SACKS. “Beyond the ability to maintain its beauty and adaptability in almost any circumstance, Charles Stone brings to interior and exterior design a product that literally imitates the textural nuance and shading of its natural counterpart and the strength to withstand the test of time.”
  • Shagreen comes standard in a 24x24 square in Multi-Wash, a rich créme washed in gold and hints of aubergine.
  • Crocodile comes standard in a 24x24 square in Stained Leather, its dark brown coloration broken with brown/black accents like that of well worn leather.
  • Parque du Versailles comes standard in a 30x30 square in Bronze, its shimmering, tonal colors of brown and bronze resembling the natural figuring and irregularities of fine wood veneers.
  • Gesso Crackle comes standard in 24x24 cool white Vellum and can be special ordered in Bronze, its deep brown coloration broken by random golden highlights.
