Paccha brings a whimsical aesthetic to the ANN SACKS® concrete assortment PORTLAND, Ore. (April 11, 2008) – ANN SACKS, premier manufacturer and distributor of luxury tile, stone and plumbing products, introduced Paccha, a vibrant collection of concrete flooring tiles, at the 2008 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show in Chicago. Paccha tiles celebrate the tradition and local craftsmanship of Morocco by employing age-old techniques for creating encaustic tiles and blending them with a fresh, modern aesthetic. Handmade by skilled artisans in Marrakech, Paccha designs take their aesthetic cue from life in Morocco. Inspiration comes from the region’s stunning geometric architectural motifs and from indoor-outdoor living, which is a way of life there. Patterns inspired by drawing in the sand and by the chirpy Baraka (or “good luck bird”) help bring an element of nature into the home. “Paccha truly debunks the myth that modern design equates stark or sterile environments,” said John Hart, chief merchandising officer, ANN SACKS and Kallista. “With their unique use of pattern and color, Paccha tiles lend a design character not typically associated with a modern concrete tile, and an energy not typically associated with more traditional motifs.” Suitable for residential and commercial wall and flooring surfaces, Paccha tiles consume minimal energy in their production. Comprised of a mixture of cement, sand ground marble and pigments, Paccha tiles are cured in a water bath before drying in the sun. No kiln firing is required. Founded in 1981, ANN SACKS has built its reputation with inspiring designs in tile, stone, plumbing, lighting and accessories. Based in Portland, Ore., the company is a division of the Kohler Co.
