ANN SACKS® Introduces Earthglass, Handmade Recycled Glass Tiles with a Textural Appeal

ANN SACKS presents Earthglass, a beautiful new hand-produced line of tile composed primarily of post-consumer recycled glass.  Earthglass offers users a unique product that has all the hallmarks of individual craftsmanship: each tile has the subtle differences in depth of color and opacity that are inherent in handmade glass.  This tile collection is ideal for anyone desiring a product that is not only unusual and fresh, but is also eco-friendly.

Earthglass is available in two design styles: an Offset Mosaic that is ¾-inches by 4-inches, and a Herringbone Mosaic of the same dimensions.  These patterns are inherently simple, modern and clean-lined, allowing the colors and personal nature of the glass to be the star of the show.  The color palette consists of three hues: Camel (shown in the herringbone mosaic), a rich caramel color that is made up of 82% post-consumer recycled glass; Oyster, a coolly versatile neutral composed of 64% post-consumer recycled glass; and Slate, a rich grey also comprised of 64% post-consumer recycled glass.

“Each of the three colors gives the tile a blend of 60% iridized surface and 40% non-iridized surface so they have an unusual visual depth and react in differing ways to ambient light,” said DeeDee Gundberg, director – product development, ANN SACKS.  “There is a lustrous quality to Earthglass that is really lovely.”

Earthglass is ideal for many installations, including walls, floors, showers, backsplashes, fireplaces, and outdoors subject to climate and installation.  Because of the handmade nature of the product, users should expect there to be small variations in color, opacity and inclusions such as small air bubbles.  These subtle dissimilarities add character and interest to the finished installation, creating a finished look that is truly unlike any other.
